It is hard to contain my enthusiasm for the many breathtaking waterfront communities available in the Olympic Peninsula. I know, because I live here. My husband and I have traveled around the world and worked from Alaska to San Diego,
and we feel we are experts in where to live in the Northwest with the least amount of RAIN!! So you think the Northwest is rainy...think again. Dr. Brad Colman, of the National Weather Service, says the rain shadow affect is “kind of complicated” but reports areas (where I live) with only 20 to 26 inches of rain a year. (See OUR AREA now, or select from the directory at left) Enjoy four distinct seasons of the year. We have mild winters and comfortable summers. Many of my recent home buyers have been from the East coast and Midwest who enjoy the changing seasons. Maybe you want “The World’s Cleanest Air.” The million acres of rich forest safeguard the Peninsula's air and reports Phyllis Militate (National Geographic) “On the Olympic Peninsula, we still have air as clean as the best in the world…” or maybe you would prefer to live in one of the other three locations; the High Andes (17,000 ft. elevation), Antarctica or High Caucasus! ( I have been to the
high Andes. NO THANKS! A great place to visit though). Recreation—oh yes! We have been boating for 15 years here and still there are hundreds of protective coves and islands to explore. Golfing there are plenty of public and private courses to choose from. Cultural and sporting events are in all the communities. Professional sports and all the amenities of a major metropolitan city are a ferry boat ride to
Seattle. I’ve been fortunate to have been active in the Port Ludlow area—one of “The 20 Best Retirement Communities” according to New Choices magazine—and surrounding communities that are perfect for a life style change. Whether you are looking for a home in Kitsap County or Jefferson County,
